Dr. Joseph H. Turner is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychoanalyst based in San Luis Obispo, California. With over 15 years of combined clinical experience in private practice and community mental health, as well as graduate-level teaching, Dr. Turner specializes in the treatment of complex trauma, characterological issues, psychosis, and severe anxiety and depression across the lifespan. Dr. Turner holds a doctorate from Pepperdine University and is a graduate of the Psychoanalytic Center of California. He brings a depth-oriented, relational approach to his clinical work, supervision, and teaching, with particular interest in primitive mental states, object relations theory, and the emotional lives of infants and children.
