On Sunday March 22, 2026, the Psychoanalytic Center of California (PCC), welcomes potential candidates to our Institute and to our Annual Open House. The PCC curriculum is based on British Object Relations Theory. We are proud to have been introduced to this psychoanalytic perspective by the honored senior mentors and founders of PCC, including Albert Mason, James Grotstein, James Gooch, Yvonne Hansen and Richard Alexander.

Beginning with the work of Freud as a foundation of our core curriculum, we explore the theory and clinical applications of psychoanalysis through the ideas of prominent thinkers such as Klein, Bion, Tustin, Winnicott and others. We also offer the Tavistock Model of Infant Observation as an essential opportunity to understand the development of the mind and the early roots of primitive mental states, and their ensuing manifestations in adult patients. Upon completion of the Core Program, graduates will receive a Certificate as a Psychoanalyst and membership in the International Psychoanalytical Association. Individuals may also pursue training in Child Analysis at PCC, offered as an Integrated program or after certification in Adult Psychoanalysis.

We look forward to sharing information about our one and two year programs as well, including the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program and the Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Programs (ICAPP).

We are proud to announce our guest speaker will be Dr Jennifer Kunst. She will be presenting the topic of, “Sowing and reaping the seeds of change. Evolving Models from Freud to Klein and Beyond.” Participants will have a chance to interact with and ask questions of our faculty, members, candidates, and students.

The reception begins in person at 11 am and the formal presentation begins at 12 pm, both in person and on Zoom. Details are available in the link below. We hope you will join us for this free event!
