This year’s Bion conference offers an introduction to the festschrift in honor of Dr. James Grotstein (1925-2015), OF THINGS INVISIBLE TO MORTAL SIGHT: Celebrating the Work of James S. Grotstein.
PCC member, Dr. Annie Reiner, will present an overview of the volume as the editor and will present her paper, “Ferenczi’s ‘astra’ and Bion’s ‘O’: A clinical perspective.” We will also welcome Dr. Ofra Eshel of the Israel Psychoanalytic Society, who will elaborate on her paper from the volume in a new presentation, “The possibility of rescue and a moment of at-one-ment: Further thoughts on ‘black hole,’ deadness,and existing analytically.”
