About The Psychoanalytic Center of California
The Psychoanalytic Center of California (PCC) is a non-profit psychoanalytic society and institute established in 1984 and a component society of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) since 1993.
The Society is a membership organization comprised of psychoanalysts, candidates (psychoanalysts-in-training), and individuals interested in the application of psychoanalytic ideas to other fields (e.g. mental health, medical, scientific, educational, and cultural). In addition to its membership as a component society of the IPA, PCC is a member of the Confederation of Independent Psychoanalytic Societies (CIPS).
The Institute offers training toward certification in Psychoanalysis and Child Psychoanalysis. In addition to the IPA, PCC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Psychoanalytic Education. The PCC also offers one-year certificate programs in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and child psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
A Rich Educational Program
We offer a rich educational program to Los Angeles psychotherapists and other professionals, specifically focused on the contemporary object relations model of psychoanalysis. We draw from and seek to develop the theories and clinical application of:

PCC provides advanced educational experiences to psychotherapists and professionals from related fields through our institute’s core psychoanalytic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy training programs. In addition, we offer stimulating continuing education, outreach, and extension programs to licensed mental health professionals, students, and the community at large.
Accredited to Provide Continuing Education Credit
The PCC is accredited by the California Medical Association (CMA) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. The PCC takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of its CME activities.
As per the California Board of Psychology, psychologists may apply hours in attendance at CME accredited live activities toward their continuing education requirement for licensure.
The Psychoanalytic Center of California is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for LMFT’s and LCSW’s (CAMFT Approved Provider # 135374).
For registered nurses, we also are accredited to provide continuing education credit by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP6003).
