All those interested in psychoanalytic training are invited to join us at the Psychoanalytic Center’s annual Open House on Sunday, April 2, 2023, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. You will have an opportunity to learn about our various educational programs. Our training is designed for those licensed professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and clinical skills. PCC is a vibrant professional community and welcome licensed therapists of all disciplines to participate in our training programs. At the Open House, we will present the curriculum of the various programs we offer. Faculty, graduate members and current students will be present to answer your questions and share their experiences of being involved in enriching their knowledge.
The Psychoanalytic Center of California is a Los Angeles-based psychoanalytic society and institute offering intensive training in Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Our approach emphasizes early states of mind and their impact on psychological development. An integral part of the training in psychoanalysis is a course in Infant Observation within a seminar format, based on the Tavistock Model. With this exploration of the mind from the beginning, the analyst can understand primitive mental states, form a bridge to the unconscious, thereby deepening the work with patients in treatment. The well-balanced curriculum includes an in-depth study of Freud, Klein, Bion and Winnicott, and the British Object Relations School, including Primitive Mental Disorders, Trauma and Narcissism and Advanced Psychoanalytic Technique.
We offer a Certification in Psychoanalysis approved by the International Psychoanalytical Association, a concurrent course of study leading to Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis, plus a one-year and two-year program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
The PCC also offers rich continuing educational and outreach programs in the Los Angeles area for mental health professionals, students, and the public at large.
